BolsenArte Music Festival
BolsenArte Music Festival brings life to Bolsena year-round with free classical and contemporary music concerts in evocative locations such as piazzas, theaters and the Rocca Monaldeschi, uniting art, history and landscape.
BolsenArte is not just an artistic and music festival: it is a sensory experience that brings together great music and the timeless beauty of Bolsena. Created to enhance the city’s historical and natural heritage, the festival transforms squares, historic venues and the lakeshore into open-air stages. From opera to jazz, from classical music to contemporary experimentation, each event is designed to offer artistic excellence in an intimate and welcoming atmosphere. Whether you are a passionate music lover or a curious traveller, BolsenArte is the ideal soundtrack to your stay. The festival comes alive throughout the year with two unmissable events, curated by the artistic director Maestro Francesco Traversi:
- BolsenArte Summer Music Festival (July – August): Warm summer evenings light up with music at sunset along the shores of the lake, in the enchantment of Piazza Santa Cristina or beneath the Rocca Monaldeschi. The summer edition is the beating heart of the tourist season, with events that are almost always free of charge and attract internationally renowned artists.
- BolsenArte Winter Music Festival (December – February): The elegance of winter by the lake. During the colder months, culture finds its home in the city’s architectural jewels, such as the Teatro San Francesco, the Piccolo Teatro Cavour, or the Basilica di Santa Cristina. A programme that warms the winter season with chamber music concerts, Christmas gospel and theatrical performances.
