The Bourbon Trio was born from the meeting of three accomplished and versatile musicians, united by their love for early jazz and the atmospheres of New Orleans.
The cornet of Maurizio Pasqui, with its warm and incisive sound, leads the group with the experience of someone who has graced the stages of Italy’s finest big bands, collaborating with Siena Jazz, Marco Tamburini Reunion Big Band and many other ensembles. Alongside him, the banjo and voice of Mirco Bonucci restore the popular and festive character of primitive jazz: guitarist, multi-instrumentalist and author of instructional manuals, Bonucci is recognized as one of the foremost experts on Brazilian music in Italy, but has never abandoned his passion for dixieland and African-American roots.
Supporting it all with energy and timbral depth, the tuba of Emanuele Ragni, tubist and trombonist with extensive experience in jazz orchestras and marching bands, today also active as director of the Trasimeno Big Band.
Together they bring to life a musical journey that recalls the streets of New Orleans’ French Quarter, between swing, overwhelming improvisations and timeless melodies. The Bourbon Trio brings to the stage the most genuine soul of traditional jazz: music that knows how to entertain and move, make feet tap to the beat while at the same time telling a story.
