BolsenArte Winter Music Festival 2025/26 – Quartetto Zilia and Giulia Boschi on piano

Date
14/02/2026 dalle 17:30

A refined chamber music encounter between feminine sensibilities: the Zilia String Quartet and pianist Giulia Boschi present an evening dedicated to two masterpieces of the great Romantic repertoire. In the first part: Luisa Bellitto and Fanny Ravier on violins, Camilla Insom on viola and Marilena Cutruzzulà on cello – will perform Johannes Brahms’s String Quartet No. 1 in C minor Op. 51 No. 1, a work of intense expressive power and profound sonic architecture.
The Quartetto Zilia, formerly “Aphrodite Quartet,” was founded in 1998 under the guidance of M. Škampa and refined its skills with F. Rossi, M. Da Silva, P. Cropper, A. Nannoni and A. Farulli. Selected by Mario Brunello for the Quartettiamo! series, the ensemble has performed for prestigious institutions such as the Fondazione Società dei Concerti di Milano, Agimus, “Musica sulle Apuane,” and “Armonie in Ville e Castelli.” Committed to promoting women composers and contemporary repertoire, the group dedicated its name to Clara Schumann, called “Zilia” by her husband Robert, as a tribute to her figure as a woman, pianist and inspiring muse.
In the second part, the quartet will join Giulia Boschi, a pianist of refined sensibility trained at the “Cherubini” Conservatory in Florence and the Imola Academy, collaborator with the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and the ORT, to perform the celebrated Quintet Op. 44 in E-flat major by Robert Schumann, a pinnacle of Romantic chamber music.
