Turona Natural Park
5 km from the town of Bolsena heading south at Km 108.200 is the Archaeological and Nature Park of Turona.

The park represents the typical hilly landscape that covers the Vulsini Mountains in upper Lazio: woods and waterways where you can commonly encounter tree and shrub species such as hornbeam, manna ash, privet and many others.
The park is crossed by the Turona and Arlena streams that border it and wind along their course with the famous small waterfalls. The Arlena stream originates from the natural springs of Bucine whose waters are drained into the lake.
In the Park live species typical of the Volsini Mountains, some rare, others completely absent in the surrounding area. Worth noting are the grey heron and the white-throated dipper, the green frog and the agile frog and the tree frog, the now rare crabs, the eels that come up from the lake and some trout.
Furthermore, along the slopes of a smaller hill, called Capriola, a burial area has been discovered from which numerous artifacts related to funeral furnishings have been unearthed, now displayed at the Territorial Museum of Lake Bolsena. Between history and culture, along the path marked by the Arlena Stream, numerous mills of archaeological value dating back to the 14th century are found, which served the inhabitants of the area, including the more distant communities of Marta and Capodimonte. For many of these mills (at least six or seven) only ruins remain. However, at the top of the hill, near the Bucine spring, one of these mills has been preserved because it was active until the 1960s.
