Via Romea Strata Trail
Bolsena is part of the twenty Italian stages of the "Romea Strata" Trail that lead to the tombs of the Apostles Peter and Paul.

Bolsena is part of what is "a destination, an experience, a reference point rich in opportunities and values."
The Romea Strata is the longest faith journey in Europe that from the Baltic Sea heads toward Rome on the northeastern side. A route of culture and faith that on Italian territory winds through 7 regions, crossing pristine places among breathtaking landscapes and silent woods and incredible artistic and cultural settings.
The Via Romea Strata enters Bolsena from the west, coming from Orvieto.
It crosses the historic center of the town, passing through the Collegiate Church of Santa Cristina and the Rocca Monaldeschi, then continuing eastward, toward Montefiascone.
Bolsena is above all a “miliarium point,” recognition given to Pilgrims in the form of a sticker to apply to their credential. To obtain it, Pilgrims must have traveled two consecutive stages, on foot or by bike, regardless of mileage.
Our town therefore, on par with Jubilee Cities like Venice, Padua, Aquileia or Verona, has nothing to envy them for Spirituality and Beauty to discover.
