Piccolo Teatro Cavour
An intimate and cozy place where passion for theater meets the authentic atmosphere of the village of Bolsena.

Today the theater hosts performances, music concerts, matinées and cultural conferences. It is equipped with a piano and keeps alive the original spirit of a meeting place and artistic expression.
Located about 100 meters from Piazza Matteotti, along Corso Cavour, the theater is set in the historic heart of the city.
The Piccolo Teatro Cavour has been active since 1830 as a municipal theater, thanks to the commitment of Count Giovanni Cozza Luzi, who promoted its construction and personally oversaw part of the staging. A talented painter and passionate about scenic arts, the Count created many of the sets and gave theater lessons to local young people.
Memorable for their intensity and imagination remain the sets and direction of the Mysteries of Santa Cristina performed in 1837, considered at the time “unforgettable among the people.”
